Dog Liver Fillets Treat - A Healthy Choice?
Dog liver fillets treat are mostly a healthy choice
when given in small quantities. They will help your dog keep healthy
all year round. Treats in general are a great stimulant for the dog
when you want to train him/her to respond to something or letting
him/her know that the performance was satisfactory.
When to give a dog liver fillets treat?
Treats in general should be given in appreciation of an action, but
not only will treats let your dog know how much you care, it will
also allow you to choose when you want him/her to know that. If you
are using a treat for training, be sure that the dog likes them in
the first place; the training will not be well remembered should the
treat not be good. Also don't administer treats when the dog has
just had his/her meal, they will loose their purpose.
Here is a simple homemade liver treat which are the best as they
contain no preservatives or salt.
1. Parboil some beef liver and let it cool down
2. Cut liver into fillets or cubes
3. Place the liver on a baking sheet and sprinkle with some garlic
powder.
4. Bake at a 250 degree until crisp. This should take about an hour.
5. Let it cool down and store in the refrigerator.
The treats are ready!
When you get liver of any kind make sure that is from a secure
source and you know the quality of the liver before administering it
to your dog. Too much of anything is not good and so is the case
with liver; if administered in too large quantities it can cause
diarrhea and/or other diseases.
Alternatives to beef liver is beef heart which can basically be
prepared the same way at home and stored in the refrigerator until
ready to treat your Buddy.
Watch your dog's diet closely and his/her reaction to it. What will
do great for some dogs may not be suitable at all for others. If you
see any changes in his/her skin or inflammations over the body,
upset stomach or loss or appetite, you may want to consult a vet
right away.
Meanwhile let your best friend know you care and love him/her with
his/her favorite treat.
